{CLOSED} TMA Homeschool’s 2015 Parents Conference: Set Them Up For Success + GIVEAWAY

I’ve never been a believer or an advocate of homeschooling. No pun intended but every time I think of homeschooled kids, I imagine anti-social individuals with no sense of personality. Of course, that was what my immature self was saying.

When I entered the world of blogging, I met and read fellow moms’ journey with homeschooling. I realized I was wrong. Homeschooled kids are perfectly normal individuals and they go through a scheduled curriculum too, just like in ordinary schools. What I didn’t realize was homeschooling is also about hard work and patience – and not everyone could do it.

If you are thinking of homeschooling your kids or you want to know the loops, ins and outs of being your child’s own teacher, then check out this conference. You’ll surely learn a lot from this. KidKite Emailer w logosPress Release

TMA Homeschool, in coordination with Manila Workshops and The Learning Basket, is proud to present its Parents Conference for 2015, entitled “Set Them Up For Success.” It will be held at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center from 8AM for registration (program starts at 9:00) to 5:00PM.

If you are a parent wondering what the best kind of education for your child is and where he will learn and be successful someday, then don’t miss the upcoming Parents Conference of TMA Homeschool at the Bayanihan Center, Unilab on March 12.

This event is set to enlighten and inspire you  to raise your children to become happy, responsible, productive  adults and leaders “wherever they are planted”.  It will run for a whole day and will consist of keynote topics like “Set Them Up for Success” and “Catching your Child’s God-given Bents for Success”. Keynote speakers are Edric Mendoza and Jayson Lo.

Mr. Mendoza is a homeschooling father of five, the president of the Homeschoolers Association of the Philippine Islands and lead anchor of ANC’s On the Money. Mr. Jayson Lo is a known inspirational speaker in the country and is the author of Younique:Understanding Others by Understanding You, a book about how personality styles help identify one’s strengths and weaknesses.

Aside from keynote talks, the conference will also feature workshops on character education, multi-level homeschooling, homeschooling through high school, adjusting teaching strategies for effecting learning, and celebrating dads who homeschool. Participants may also opt to attend a Q&A forum where TMA Homeschool will answer questions about homeschooling in the Philippines. Speakers for these sessions are seasoned homeschoolers Donna Simpao, Millona Barraca, Bles de Guzman, Joy Mendoza, and Dennis Sy. Participants may choose one track for each talk happening simultaneously. Expect a day filled with doses of homeschool inspiration and information about parenting and homeschooling.

There are prizes to be raffled off too!

Home schooling my children never came as an option. Not because I find it less to traditional schooling, but because I don’t think I am teacher material. I salute mommies who made a career in homeschooling their precious children!

I plan to home school my daughter too, – I’ve already discussed this with my husband too, and he’s open with the idea. I am just glad that there are a lot of parents who are open to this! 🙂

I plan to homeschool my daughter and conferences like these could truly help moms planning on taking that path. I just hope they have these held here in Cebu as well.

It’s a good thing that homeschooling is gaining more traction here in the Philippines. I’m planning on homeschooling my son and have told my husband that there are support groups and organizations that offer everything that parents would need to homeschool their children. It’s my way of convincing him to support me in this endeavor 🙂

Nice workshop. I think most parents these days are looking for better alternatives when it comes to schooling and making sure of their child’s success.

Not sure if I really understand how ‘homeschooling’ works, but I really prefer having kids learn at school. But of course, they learn everything in any way possible.

Sayang. Sana it was scheduled on a weekend 🙁 I would’ve wanted to learn more about homeschooling since my baby girl is turning 4 this year. I think she needs to start going to a toddler class.

I have known long ago that homeschooling is not for me. I don’t have the patience for it, but I really do admire moms who home-school their kids. This Parents’ Conference would surely be a big help for homeschooling parents.
